Difference Between Purified And Distilled Water
It is observed that purified as well as distilled water is good for our health. But the basic difference is the process that is applied for purifying the water. Purified water may be termed as the one with a TDS count of less than 10 PPM, i.e. 10 parts-per-million. Both the distilled and purified water have the PPM between zero and one. These two types are equally significant. The distilled water is preferred by many people that focus their attention on the lack of minerals in it. That’s why they use it for medical / dental equipment and coffee pot etc. Likewise purified water too without any minerals is also good. It is the boiling process involving use of energy that enhances the basic costs of the distilled water.
The basic difference between these two waters is the specific process that is involved. The distilled water is gained by making it to undergo distillation whereas purified water is obtained through the ion exchange, reverse osmosis or sand filtration etc. Otherwise both these types of water are free from minerals and chemicals etc. The usual water systems make use of the purification methods that include the RO, distillation, deionization, ozone and ultraviolet procedures to gain the clean water that is free from any type of contaminant. Which One To Choose The Distilled Water Or The Purified Water

The purified water is made to undergo certain processes like RO and deionization etc. But the purified water cannot be considered as the distilled one as it involves extraordinary processes for elimination of contaminants.
Whether distilled or purified; water should be chosen by considering its freedom from contamination, enrichment with minerals, balanced pH and antioxidants. These unique features of pure and clean water determine its overall quality.
